FAQ

How can civil society use the opportunity of EU presidencies?

The workshop bring together stakeholders from the countries which will hold the EU Presidency up until the end of 2019. Discussions will focus on the priorities of these presidencies, as well as on possible forms of coordination and cooperation among civil society organisations in Presidency countries. Special attention will be given to opportunities for joint action on democracy support.

The rotating EU Presidency can in theory provide a privileged point of contact for civil society with the upper reaches of EU decision-making. The Presidency has the possibility, working in a trio of Presidencies, to prepare specific initiatives and host thematic events.
